Not a bad morning for football, pitch was in a reasonable state although did cut up towards the end of the game.
We started the match quite brightly competing for every ball and we took the lead after about 15 mins Dave Billy latched on to my through ball and tucked it away neatly as the keeper came out. After the goal we stopped closing Salford down and they caused us problems as they were passing the ball well down the wings and evenutally they equalised. We then went 2-1 down after a ball into the box from the right was only half cutout by our centre back and it tee'd up nicely for the Salford forward 2-1 half time.
We came out second half like we started the first and our hunger paid off, we got an equiliser with another well taken finish from Billy. It wasn't long after we were in front, a ball over from the left looped over everyone to the back post and sladey was there to smash it in. Our 4th came from the penalty spot (Luca had been fouled twice already and nothing given) and meant Billy got his hatrick.
Wasn't a fan of the ref, not just because he booked me for something extremely innocuous (I was actually trying to shut our player up not incite any trouble), for large parts he was ok and our winger deserved a booking for an outburst but he wasn't interested in talking, normal ref's are happy to take a second to explain a decision to the captain when they ask what the free kick was for etc... but this guy just sent me away and struggled to get his words out for what he had given, appeared to be responding to home side shouts from the touchline. With no appeals and the booking gone down as dissent it counts as a 1 match ban :-(
On the whole pleased to win, the Salford lads are a good team, the lad up front kept our defence on their toes playing on the shoulder and the lad in midfield with the spiked up hair was decent on the ball.
