A fairly awful game from us, where not much went right. We conceded from a good set piece in the first 5 mins and then had our most creative midfielder sent off 5 mins later for kicking out off the ball. This left a bit of a mountain to climb and we slid down it a lot further with 3 very avoidable goals in the next 15 mins (a ball that 2 players missed, a quick free quick we didn't respond to and a ball thrown straight to their striker who couldn't believe his luck but finished well. 0-4). We got one back just before half time with a cracking strike from JP. Then, when I tapped in a second 5 mins into the second half, the unlikeliest of comebacks looked possible. On 55 mins our best midfielder Tom B jumped for a header and there was a bad clash of heads with one of their lads that led to an ambulance and both having hospital treatment. Both are now on the road to recovery but Tom B will not play again this season after 4 facial fractures to his jaw, cheek, eye socket and nose. The game restarted after a long stoppage and we struggled to play well after that and Bridge scored 3 decent goals before I got a consolation (one of my best headed goals for many a year) and celebrated with cramp. Bridge deserved the points. We battled really well for the last two-thirds of the game with circumstances against us, some of our own making... But we lost the game in the first 25 mins, or to give credit to Bridge, they won it then.
