Played last night at Manchester Academy 3g.
Unfortunately 2nd time we have played at Vinelife this season where the ref has failed to show up. Dan took charge when it became clear he was a no show. Vinelife started better and used the strong wind to their advantage. They scored quite quickly, I think after about 10 minutes and could have added another a few minutes later.
As we got used to the wind, we got more into the game and scored after a low, long range effort squirmed under the keeper. We scored again 5 minutes later after some nice work down the left and went in at half time 2-1 up.
2nd half we didnt use the wind advantage anywhere near as well as vinelife and couldnt make anything stick on goal. At the other end we feel we were on the harsh end of a decision to award Vinelife with a Penalty, despite it looking (to us) like it was a foul in our favour.
Vinelife added another only a few minutes later, and when they then had another cleared off the line - it looked as though we were about to take a hiding.
We re-grouped and after a few attempts of our own we stuck one in with 10 mins to go. We had some decent chances to win it but both were saved by the keeper.
Draw probably a fair result in the end.
