Congratulations to Bridge Bolton who are through to the NCT Final thanks to a penalty shoot out win under the lights at Cheadle Town. I went to watch this, but had to leave after 90 mins when it was 1-1, I heard it finished 1-1 aet and then Bridge won on penalties.
I reckon it wasn't a great game of football to be honest, with not many clear cut chances and I think the hard dry surface which made for a high bouncing ball made it difficult for the players. It was as close as the scoreline suggests, with each team having spells when they looked the more likely. I thought it was impressive that in an important match for both sets of players with a final at stake that in the 90 minutes I saw there were no conduct issues and I didn't hear a sinlge word of bad language.
Good luck to Bridge in the final and let's hope for an 'SMCCFL double' when CS Yellows play in the SF of the NCC on Saturday.
