Frozen pitch.
After Matt's 9am pitch inspection we agreed to turn-up because we thought it might be playable by 10.30am. By then the pitch was almost playable, soft enough in most parts, but the surface was 'crusty' and frozen hard in places and the referee decided it was not safe to play. Most Hurdsfield players and I reckon he took the right decision, although most of the Ivy players wanted to play. I think it would have been too risky to play and the surface would have spoiled the football for the first hour.
At the time it was disappointing, but the players will enjoy the match much more when it is played in safe conditions later in the season.
