Deja-vu.....second year in a row we have lost deservedly in cup round 1 to div 3 opponents. And again, we have lost with a whimper, with a poor performance - having played so well (but lost) with a similar under-strength team last week against Bridge it is difficult to understand, I suppose that is football. At the end, some of our players reckoned we lost because we got it wrong tactically - maybe, but more I reckon it was because Langworthy simply played better than Hurdsfield.
Take nothing away from Langworthy - they played some good football, took their chances and just seemed to want it more than we did. They showed, just like our opponents last season, that we have good football being played in all SMCCFL divisions and apart from the very top of div 1 I reckon there isn't much to choose between the divisions.
