A great game and good result away from home from in-form Ambassadors.
The match began with Ambassadors starting well and causing real problems in King's half albeit without a shot on target. King's saw this period of pressure out and made their way up the pitch before a nice strike drifted over our keeper to make it 1-0 King's. The restart saw a more even period until half time, King's adding a second goal, which has tended to derail ambassadors second half hopes this season.
However Ambassadors were aware that they could score goals against King's today, and started the second half much as they did the first, attacking well. One of these attacks saw the ball fall at player-manager Adam Sowerby's feet and he finished well, placing the ball into the far corner, 2-1. After committed tackles and both teams battling to take control, a series of defensive errors and failed clearances saw the ball drop to a King's man outside the box and the shot was a screamer, hitting top right of the net 3-1. From here Ambassadors reacted well, scoring a brilliant team goal when captain Simon Trevethick stepped out of defence and clipped the ball to Charlie on the right hand side , who crossed into Dave Dowdall, his first effort saved before cutting inside and burying the ball into the top corner 3-2. A third followed when our nominated man of the match Tom in net punted a goal kick up front. King's let it bounce and Dave was sharp enough to follow up and head over the keeper. 3-3 and neither team could find a winner.
Superb game played in a great manner with good quality goals, both teams will feel they could have won it. Pitch wasn't the best however!
