Three goals in each half ensured all three points. Played in good spirits against a tough Salford side, who have some quality players. Good luck for the season gents.

We have played the top two in the last two weeks and been given football lesson in both games.
Today summed up our season, we lacked hunger, work ethic on and off the ball and togetherness, all qualities that in the past Salford have built our game around. I totally agree with the statement from Smafc we do have some individual quality players that are capable of competing in this league, but football matches aren't always won by individual displays it takes a team effort and this is what we have lacked all season.
Frustrating really because we had a smaller squad last season due to injuries/players missing and we still managed to finish 3rd, but last season we had players that wanted to turn up for training and work hard for each other, this season we have a split in the team whereby players are turning up for training and trying and others just turning up on match day and expecting to just win!! This kind of approach and attitude warrants relegation, I just hope that these last two weeks are a big enough wake up call and the lads who really care and want to play football for the right reasons turn up on training night and put a shift in till the end of the season and try and maintain our top flight status because we worked hard to achieve it, then hopefully it will spur us on to come back stronger next season.
I would like to thank the Smafc lads, they played fantastic and deserved the win, I wish them all the best in the title decider next week. If I had to chose between Burnley and Smafc for the title, I'd have to go for Smafc because they look hungry and have quality all across the park, nothing against the Burnley lads but these Smafc look strong.

The praise is much appreciated but we've only once been able to field the same xi this season and we're struggling to get a team out at the minute, the usual end of season dilemma!
That doubled with having played a game extra, it really is Burnleys for the taking.
Regardless of who wins the league and who is relegated its been a very tightly contested and enjoyable league this season. Like I mentioned earlier in the season, on a separate post, it's a shame Toft folded as it would've made for an even more competitive league.
