A great match between two evenly matched teams, was sadly marred by one terrible decision. In the first half both teams had chances to score, Ivy came closest when they managed to put the ball in the net, sadly at the expense of an offside, following a corner. At the other end the closest Oasis came was from a curling left foot free kick that was well parried by the keeper at the near post. In the second half oasis scored! After the ball had been shepparded out of play by the Ivy defender, by a good yard, the attacking Warrington play took a soft swing to hook the ball back into play. It landed at the feet of the oasis forward who half hearted diverted the ball towards goal, via the cross bar. As all the players walked back towards to centre for a goal kick. The referee blew for a goal much to the bemusement of all the players! Including the Warrington forward who had put the ball in the net! As the game went on Ivy pushed desperately for an equaliser but it wasn't to happen. On the whole it was a great game of football and a close battle.
