A very enjoyable and entertaining game of football, with decent weather to match.
Ivy Cosmos took the lead with a great 25 yard shot into the top corner, and almost made it 2-0 not long after. The same Ivy player had a similar effort this time the keeper fumbled the shot, and dived back and scooped out of the goal with a debate as to weather it crossed the line of not.
Ivy did eventually make it 2-0 when the striker got through 1 on 1 with the Westwood keeper, waiting for him to commit himself and slotted the ball the other way.
Westwood got themselves back into it with goals either side of half time from error's from the Ivy keeper from crosses and corners.
Westwood then took the lead when a great driven shot was only parried by the keeper and a Westwood player was the first to react.
Ivy did manage to get themselves an equaliser following a goal mouth scramble from a deep freekick which resulted in about 15 players scambling within the Westwood 6 yard box.
Ivy could also count themselves unfortunate with a couple of referee'ing decisions. Firstly Our striker broke past the last defender and would of been in a clear 1 on 1 position only to be dragged down. Instead of sending off the player the referee booked the player and made Westwood substitute him off for the rest of the game! strange decision that game Ivy no advantage from the incident.
And Lastly in the dying minutes, the Westwood keeper was indecisive with a pass back and our striker nicked it off him, only to be taken out by the keeper as he went round him! No Penalty?
To be fair to Westwood, on the balance of play, they were much the better team, they passed the ball and moved the play around the pitch much better, especially in the second half. Their Left Winger and Center Mid players were fantastic for them today.
Well done to Westwood and Michael, and good luck in your run in the cup. 2 final defeats in the last 2 years. It has surely got to get better soon for them.
