A draw is not a great for either team at both ends of the table.
For Hurdsfield coming back from 3-0 down was a good result and certainly one point is better than none ! Especially in the circumstances of only having 11 players and the sort of availability problems that we had earlier in the season that I thought were behind us. But we still had a decent team and I think it was sheer hard work and committed football that got us the draw in the end. Naturally, SMA Red must have been very disappointed not to have secured the win from being in control at 3-0 in the second half.
After a very even first 30 mins, SMA took a 2-0 lead with two goals in quick succession to lead by that scoreline at HT. Then SMA went 3-0 up fairly early in the second half and seemed in control, somehow we seemed to sneak back into the match in the last quarter of the match to snatch the draw. Perhaps the substitutions that SMA made in the second half were not so good for them, but with 15 players and 3-0 up I think they did the right thing to give the subs a game (all the subs looked like good players; I would have done the same thing).
We played this home match in Poynton for the first time, because both the two pitches we use in Macc were not available. The pitch was in an OK condition, very different from when we were due to play on it in Feb, but back then it was like a bog with all the rain we had back then.

A poor performance by ourselves to throw away a three goal lead, the changes may've led to the outcome but so did our defending, or lack of it.
A good point for you guys but as mentioned, not much use to either team and it swings the balance back in favour of Burnley at the top to make for an interesting run in until the season end.
Good luck for the season gents.
