Finally managed to get this game played at the 3rd attempt!
It was a good game to watch from the sides and I think we edged it in creativity.
We managed to get one after around 10 minutes, with veteran Dave Scholes hooking in a volley on the edge of the area. The 2nd followed shortly after with one of our strikers picking up a loose ball from the keeper.
The 3rd was a real peach, with our winger smashing into the roof of the net from 25 yards, after beating a couple of players.
2nd half we played very well and stifled any attacking threat. We created plenty of our own but couldnt convert any more goals, when at times it seemed easier to miss!
SMA got a penalty with about 1 min to go, to me it seemed very harsh - the ball hit our defender on the chest and arm, about 5 yards from where it was kicked. Not sure he could have got out of the way of it.
On to the next round, very happy with our performance all round this morning.
