Played on the 3g today in difficult conditions, anything above head height and the wind took it out of play.
Coldhurst had 3 decent half chances early on as they applied all the pressure and won the midfield battle, unfortunately for them they didnt have their shooting boots.
We had 2 good chances ourselves the coldhurst/(firwood) keeper producing excellent saves from mick o'neill and paul brush.Ht 0-0
2nd half we brought on another midfielder to allow us to control the middle of the park more, and it paid off as we created 3/4 good chances but just couldnt score.
Luckily we got the opener when mick o'neills shot from a tight angle took a slight deflection and went into the corner.65mins.
We deserved this as we pushed coldhurst back with the wind behind us creating some more chances.
Paul brush's left foot shot made it 2-0 beating paul hay at his near post on 73 mins as we tried to consolidate our lead.
Coldhurst were dangerous on the break all day and may have won this on another day, really pleased we were patient and ground out another result.reckon we edged it in the end.
Its a very competitive div 3 this year where any team can beat anyone.
Best of luck to coldhurst for rest of season, they will win more than they lose.

I've just realised with this result that you are now guaranteed promotion to division 2 next season, with 4 games to spare.
Congrats!

Westwood can still get 30 points so surely 1 point is still required?

Well Westwood had that defeat just after christmas to Manc. Central. meaning they only have 5 games and can only get 27 points, and St Paul's can only get 29.
