A really competitive match that ended in controversy. Bridge had the better of a tense goalless first half and created a few chances whilst their defence limited OWFC to very little in terms of opportunities.
The second half was closer but again Bridge created the better openings and deservedly took the lead in the 88th minute through Andy Morley. This looked like a likely winner and Oasis would have had no qualms in losing to the better side, however, OWFC forced a corner in the final minute and from the resulting cross the ball was bundled home by Tom Lupton.
This incensed the Bridge who were adamant that he used his hand to force the ball over the line, however, neither Richard, myself or the referee saw this from our positions.
Whilst I tell my guys to abide by the referees decision at all times, I have genuine sympathy for Bridge on this occasion as several of my players admitted it was a handball after the match.
We are pleased to get a point after a poor display but not with the circumstances that got us it.
