One of only two games to be played today in Division 1, and a repeat of last weeks cup fixture with both teams having different line ups.
Smafc took an early 0-2 lead with two well taken finishes and added a third mid way through the half with a deflected shot. Firwood produced a few opportunities during the half but lacked the finish to get on the scoresheet. Smafc had the better of the half and went into the break ahead. Also mid way through the half Firwoods keeper had to be replaced due to a back injury, hopefully nothing to serious.
Half time 0-3
Second half saw Smafc continue to have the better of the play and with another good finish Nathan Brooks completed a hat trick for 0-4. Ed Gasson then added another two to complete his hat trick for 0-6. Despite the scoreline Firwood still tried to play football and their main threat again came from the left, with their pacy winger. Smafc added a further three goals to make it 0-9, whilst making several changes. Credit to Firwood who kept going and scored a late consolation goal from a knock down from a free kick.
Full time 1-9
