Manchester Central played really well in this match and fully deserved to win. They showed today that in all divisions of SMCCFL good football is being played by good footballers and that often there is not much difference in standard between the divisions.
This was a real disappointment for Hurdsfield after a strong performance last week to record our first league win of the season. But today was more like our recent heavy defeat to SMA Red - again goalie errors and soft goals meant we made it too easy for our opponents and I think like that SMA match the Central team seemed to want it more than us. Our new (and hopefully to be regular) keeper could not play because he had to go to work at short notice and this cost us, whilst it showed that one of our centre backs was playing his first match since January.
Central nearly had the 'icing on the cake' when manager Dan came on for the last phase of the match and very nearly scored.
At least my day improved when the Owls recorded their first win of the season, a great performance scoring 5 goals!
Good luck to Manchester Central in the Cup.
