Switched to a 3g pitch as the grass was looking decidedly iffy on Friday afternoon, the groundsman only gave it a 50/50 chance and that was only if it didn't rain overnight.
Despite some early chances it was Salford who took the lead after gaining a penalty.
Burnley took the game to Salford and had numerous chances and despite hitting the bar and the post the ball wouldn't go in. I thought our luck was out when Salford went through once more but thankfully their striker scuffed it wide.
Thankfully ....mercifully our luck in front of goal returned when Billy danced around a few players and slotted into the left hand corner. Only 5 minutes later we added another with a neat strike from the right into the left hand corner.
In the second half we kept control of the game and added another through a penalty of our own and then a close range strike near to the end of the game.
At 2-1 Salford did get a break away and Darren had a one on one with our keeper, thankfully he hit it quite straight and the goalie made a good save
