We knew this would be our hardest game of the season and it proved to be just that despite the scoreline.
Both sides struggled for form for first 20 mins as the challenges flew in and players getting frustrated/upset with the lack of protection from the ref.
We should have been 2 up by the time victor agheyisi made it 0-1 after 25 mins from 6 yards.it became 0-2 when a nathan braddish free kick found the head of marcus harris who scored from close range.
Penketh equalised when peter harris got caught in possesion and striker hammered home 1-2.home side put us under pressure with a series of corners but cdnt score. HT.
2nd half early on was quite even with penketh breaking with pace to catch us out a few times on counter attack.
On the hour mark we got our game together nathan braddish made it 3-1 after a disallowed goal from lowey and nathan missing a pen..
Further goals from marcus harris, jonathan cahill, paul hughes, paul brush and nathan braddish with a penketh goal before our last made it 2-8.FT
We played our best football late on in this game as penketh tired.overall a hard fought game with a lot of hard tackles.
Ref was average in my opinion and very inconsistent,3 bookings for mistimed tackles.
Best of luck for the season st pauls penketh.

Very proud of our lads. The penny seems to have dropped in what is shaping up to be our most important season yet. Simon and I have spent 3 years building this team with a vision just to become a good side. Decent set of lads in general Penketh. My only criticism being a lack of changing rooms. Not for the first time this season, our boys have been made to change outdoors prior to a game. But, am sure its a matter down to unintended circumstances on their part. DITTON ATHLETIC, WHERE ONLY WINNING IS GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

Good game of football when the players where protected, number of times I had late challenges and a player push me an go head to head... Nothing punished. On a football term the team we have is growing every game. The goals we are scoring are team goals. No superstars.... People are happy for others to score aslong as the team get a win, which we have done throughout the season so far. Feel sorry for penketh seem to have a great set of lads. Minus the odd one or two, score line flattered us, as they give us a really tough physical game. Well done to the ditton boys roll on next week
BRADDO 4 assists 2 goals. Hit post. Missed pen. Had better days ha

I don't think in this league there should be any criticism for lack of change rooms. There is no league rule or expectation that the home team should provide change rooms. SMCCFL clubs play on the pitches that are available to them (be that from the council, school or private) and in many cases there is no choice to have change rooms. That said, it can be a bit disappointing if there are changing room facilities at a pitch but for some reason these are locked or otherwise not available to use.
For my team, Holy Trinity Hurdsfield, our home pitch for many years has had no change rooms and we have got used to changing pitch-side, and we do have to ask our visitors to do the same. The sometimes exception is when we are at Windmill Sreet and (like Macc Parish) we are able to offer St Peter's church hall to the away team to change........but even in those cases we just change pitch-side as we used to it! When we go away we don't expect change rooms, although when they are available it is a bonus and we do use them. UP THE OWLS
