Well done to Firwood on this victory! All goals scored within the first 30 mins.
Firwood took a 3-0 lead, 3 chances, 3 goals within the first 15 minutes. For some reason it took us this long to wake up and decide we actually need to start playing some football. We deservedly got 2 goals back and from then on for pretty much the rest of the match we had the most of the possession and play but the goal just wouldn't come. Firwood had a couple of other chances but nothing clear cut.
We should have done better with the final ball, Firwood defended well and maybe we should have tried to test the keeper a bit more in the 2nd half! This is one of those matches where we threw it away in the first 15 minutes and credit to Firwood for taking advantage and battling well in the 2nd half to grind out the result.
Good young set of lads and we look forward to the return match.
Although the result didn't go our way today we are 3 games in with 6 points. Not a bad start on our return to the top table!!
Peoples Church away next week to try and put it right!
