Excellent morning for a game of football, pitch was in excellent condition and weather was nice.
A game we were disappointed to lose in all honesty, both teams worked hard and it looked like it was heading for a 0-0 till about the 83rd minute. Oasis got a break down the left, it was cut back across, bit of pinging around the box before it dropped to an Oasis player who found the corner of the net. The 2nd goal was conceded very late on when we had stuck everyone up trying to rescue a point.
What can I say about Oasis, largely have a good team, they spread the ball and use the wings well, hardly saw any of the ball in centre midfield. Football aside the attitudes of some of your players is atrocious, two footed tackle inside the first 5 minutes (in my opinion was worth at least a yellow card but in the ref's defence this was probably the only thing he missed and largely had a good game not rising to any of the never ending moaning by the Oasis team) and to the player concerned, yes you did get the ball because I saw you jump into the tackle and moved away to avoid being cut in half.
Another delightful moment on the pitch was Oasis number 8 centre midfielder who squared up to me and gave me a mouthful of abuse simply as I had taken the ball past him. I actually asked him what I had done wrong as the ball was at my feet I didn't have to tackle him so was unsure what his issue was and he told me 'just try that again you ginger prick' - not quite the explanation I was looking for but thanks all the same.
All in all I don't think a single minute went by in the match when there wasn't one of the Oasis lot moaning for something, best one was in the first half when our centre back went up for a header and the forward stuck out 2 arms and pushed him in the back, ref rightly gave the free kick to our centre back but not according to the centre mid, nearly 2 minutes went past before he shut up about how a 'shove' in the box is part of the game. Moaning for moanings sake.
Not to paint too bad a picture there were some very good players on the Oasis side, the tall skinny winger was excellent down the right side, the keeper pulled off 2 outstanding saves and the centre backs got stuck in, the fella who started up top and the big fella who came on at the end had a great game up top.
Moaning and flashpoints aside the match was decent, both sides were committed and Oasis used the big pitch to their advantage with the wide men. We started brightly and were on top for first 10 minutes but then Oasis came back in to it and had a large share of the possession and created a few chances but were largely being held at bay by our defence. We came back into the match towards the end of the first half and the keeper pulled off a great save diving to his left to keep out an effort from the edge of the box. 0-0 half time
Second half was largely like the first, both sides working extremely hard and Oasis created the better chances, 2 great saves from our keeper and the post kept us in the match but we looked like we had rode the pressure and created a few chances ourselves but 1 straight at the keeper and 2 over the bar. Oasis scored the goal going into last 10 minutes when it looked like they had run out of ideas, a mix up between our winger and right back saw the ball fall loose to the left winger of Oasis who cut inside, sent a ball over that cannoned about before being stroked into the corner of the net. We tried to push for an equaliser but caught for a second very late on. 2-0 final score.
