Judging by results so far, with exception to Burnleys result yesterday, its going to be a tightly contested league this year.
Smafc Reds on the whole dominated the game, hitting the crossbar and missing several sitters infront of goal.
Ramsbottom battled well throughout and had one of the best players on the pitch in one of their cm's, who sadly had to go off late on due to an injury.
Testament to Ramsbottom they continued playing and around 70 mins some poor defending allowed their winger in and his richoceted shot was well finished by their forward who had just come on.
Smafc paid the price for their finishing, or lack of it, as Ramsbottoms only shot of the game gave them all three points.

I have to disagree that SMAFC dominated the game - they did miss some chances but felt we had others that we should have done better with as well and I can remember having more than the one shot. It was the final 10 minutes that I felt we were hanging on due to SMAFC going for the equaliser, but yes I was pleased with our battling performance and the way we applied ourselves against a good team.

In terms of possession and general play and genuine goal scoring chances Smafc had the better throughout the game. Smafc had a handful of guilt edged chances, but just couldn't finish at all.
You didn't have one shot that even tested the keeper, even the goal was a lucky ricochet off the keeper initially. Hardly an exaggeration either, as I was the keeper.

Ramsbottom players don't get into a game of tennis with these delusional smafc players, they outplay every team and have the better of the chances, but yet the common theme continues, they don't win!!

Haha, every post following his seems to be .......I disagree with the above post. Maybe he'd be kind enough to explain to us how united we're unfortunate to have come away yesterday with nothing having dominated the game and had the better chances )
