Nice to be back with a win on the opening day of season.it was by no means an easy win as mc are a very physical side who have a great never say die attitude with good players.
1st half we had a few chances with nathan braddish hitting the bar with a long range free kick.mc defending was superb denying us on 3 occasions when it seemed certain we would score.
mc had a few counter attacks which led to corners which we defended poorly.
deadlock was broke when a sam shomefun cross ended up in the net somehow!!0-1 HT.
2nd half teamtalk seemed to do the trick when joddy cahill burst through to make it 0-2 from a good pass from tom floyd.
mc responded with a well taken goal on the hour mark which beat the keeper at nearpost.1-2
Mc pressed us back for 20 mins but couldn't break us down.a couple of fresh legs were required at this point as myself and paul brush came on.
We immediately created 3 good chances to score(1 of which I blew),inspired goalkeeping from mc.
Cometh the hour cometh the man as paul brush(injured) latched onto a clearance from nathan lowe and put the keeper under pressure who fumbled and pb rounded him to make it 1-3 FT.
Thought we deserved the victory but mc will be pushing every team that visits them this season.
