Our last league game of the season and the trip down to hurdsfield was thankfully worth it.
The pitch was ok but still a bit hard in places which made it difficult for both sides to string many pieces of play together.
We benefited greatly from our striker who seemed to have the game of his life and I think was involved in every goal, hurdsfield struggled to get close to him and that was the real difference in the team's.
So we can only hope now that toft slip up somewhere with their next 3 games. Unlikely but never say never.

I thought both teams managed some decent football on a quite dry and hard pitch despite some rain in the last few days. Even with a few Yellows players missing they always had the upper hand and fully deserved a predictable result.
Unlike often against Toft and Yellows I reckon we were much more competitive this time. I thought the play was closely matched for long periods but there were also passages of play when Yellows showed just how good they are with some very good football, individually and collectively. I think that goes for more than just their striker, but of course it is goals that matter !
It was 3-0 to Yellows at half time, so arguably the score would suggest we improved second half. The referee had a good game, we have only used him once before. At the end he gave Terry, Burger and me some pleasing feedback about the positive attitude and conduct from both sets of players and the good 'spirit' that the match had been played in. He was observing a big difference between our SMCCFL matches and Macc Sunday league which he is used to...........what our league is all about of course, but nice to get the feedback from someone independent for whom 'church football' is new.
