Eccles scored their goal to make 2-1 in the first half, it was 4-1 at half time.
I actually don't think this match was as clear-cut for Hurdsfield as the score might suggest. Both teams played good football going forward, but I reckon we just had the greater 'cutting edge' up front, scoring some good goals, but also beneffited from some poor Eccles defending for some of our goals. If Eccles had scored their penalty early in the second half it could have been the start of a comeback from 4-1 but it wasn't to be for them.
Credit to Eden Eccles that despite the scoreline they just kept working and playing their football to the end.
We will play Kay Street away in the SF on 12th April.
For Hurdsfield that is 3 matches in a row unbeaten, 17 goals scored in those 3 matches. Now to see if we can take that form into our final four league matches and get enough wins to escape relegation.......it will be tough, but we'll give it a go. UP THE OWLS
